My candle making journey..
Posted by Kahrien van Vuuren on
Last year someone gave me a word from the Lord, that I was going to make candles. I was never particularly interested in candles or have even bought candles for myself, and I just parked that idea somewhere.
But the beginning of this year I felt the Holy Spirit nudging me to make a candle for a friend and I started investigating the idea. Little did I know it was the beginning of a very interesting new path at the time...
I started researching different types of candles, candle making processes, different ingredients of specifically organic candles and ended up on a journey of essential oils! At first I was just bowled over by the beautiful fragrances but soon I started to experiment with the oils to test their healing benefits and therapeutic value.
I tested different oils on myself, my family and friends and we were amazed at the results! We treated pimples, dry skin, hair loss, anti-aging, adrenal fatigue, eczema, sore muscles, bruises and much more..
I realised that these essential oils are what the Lord gave us to use for medication, skincare and perfume thousands of years ago! They come directly from the plants that grow around us and are absolutely pure, natural and healthy. It is only in the last century or two that all the pharmaceutical products have been developed that we know as medicine. And they have so many negative side effects.
That is why the wise men brought baby Jesus gold, frankincense and myrrh as gifts. Frankincense and myrrh are two essential oils with incredible healing properties and there is even a debate that the 'gold' mentioned was liquid gold, which was like the balsem of Gilead, also a type of myrrh oil. Essential oils were very expensive and hard to come by in biblical times.
What a journey this candle making journey has been and I am still learning. Getting new understanding of God's original design as I seek to learn more.
Sometimes the best things are hidden and we have to search for it!
Jer 33:3 'Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.'
