Frolic like stall-fed calves!

‘But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; And you shall go out and frolic like stall-fed calves.’ Malachi‬ ‭4:2

This verse from Malachi had been on my heart since the beginning of the lockdown, and it is not only because I think many of us will frolic like stall-fed calves when we get set free after this lockdown (smile). Although I can definitely now associate much better with a stall-fed calf in more than one way..  

While being bombarded with such an overload of information through the media and social media during the past months, I think we all know how many different opinions and agendas there are. We truly need divine wisdom and understanding to discern between right and wrong, good and evil. Many things are not as they appear to be... but we do not know the inclination of people’s hearts and the facts about every situation.

When I read this verse, I realised that the Sun of Righteousness in this verse, speaks of Jesus. The sun, like Jesus, speaks of light and fire. 

LIGHT brings truth and exposes evil and wrong. Light drives away darkness.

FIRE of Holy Spirit ignites our hearts like in the day of Pentecost but it also destroys and burns away the chaff. Fire is also a symbol of God’s judgement.

Jesus, the Light of the world, comes to bring truth in our hearts and exposes the sin or lies. By doing that He brings healing (in He’s wings) to our spirit, soul and body. The healing fills us with joy and laughter!

When the Fire of God comes, it destroys wickedness and self (pride), it refines our faith and ignites in our hearts a renewed  passion for Jesus. That is Revival!

We need the Light and Fire of Jesus, not only on a personal level, although that is where it must begin. We also need His Light and Fire for South-Africa and for the nations. We need lies and wicked schemes to be exposed by His Light and burnt away by the Fire of God. And we need the Light of the Gospel and the Fire of Holy Spirit to be poured out so that revival will come to South Africa and the Nations! 

Now is the time to be waiting in the upper room on the Holy Spirit to be poured out afresh on this earth. Expecting in our hearts to be healed, to receive new revelation and understanding, power, positioning and to be released into our destiny and purpose for this coming season on this earth.

When we are empowered from on high, like the disciples in Acts 2 at Pentecost, we will definitely run out with joy and frolic like stall-fed calves with new vision, hope and strength. Not in our own strength or power, but by His Holy Spirit (Zech 4:6)
